Designer board games to decorate your home (sideboard, coffee table)? - yes, please!
My blog has moved! :) here is the link to my new website.

Fun and stylish, and good for brains - what can be better? :) My secret decorative dream is to fill shelves and sideboards at home not only with books but with several well-designed board game boxes! So far of those board game boxes that I would like to see on my open shelves as decorative objects, I only have a classic black-and-white chessboard… :)
So here are some of the ideas:
The whole board games range from Printworks - but my personal favorite - the chess collection, particularly in blue and green!

The Areaware Gradient Puzzles collection looks great! Though at least 6 beautiful vibrant color schemes are available, I, of course, chose grey :) Actually, I never tried “gradient“ puzzles, curious to give it a try….
A typography-inspired Galapagos Game by Amsterdam-based designer studio Felix Salut is
available on their website. Funny thing - I wanted this game so badly several years ago - they were selling it in COS stores at that time, as a part of their Gifts collection, if I remember correctly, but then it was completely sold out and I couldn’t recall the name of the manufacturer - and I found it again 5 minutes ago while writing this blog post!

Also I always dreamed of ‘Bauhaus‘ chess set by Naef!
This one is on the expensive side! - if someone is interested, it’s available for example here (the chess board itself) + figures here.
As an alternative (but also expensive…) you may want to have a look at this Man Ray Schachspiel set by Klein & More.

P.S. HAY also has several well-designed board games in nice bright boxes. Not exactly what I’m searching for in terms of design, but still worth having a look: Backgammon is spotted here and here, and chess sets here and here.
Also, you may want to have a look at 3 Interior Design and Interior Styling Books I can safely recommend.
Have fun! :)
